Benalmádena has three very different areas, and it is worth knowing which one is yours before you book. Arroyo de la Miel is the commercial part, next to the train station and the cable car; Benalmádena Costa has the beach hotels and Puerto Marina; and Benalmádena Pueblo is the old village, on the hillside, with views over the sea.
There are several kilometres and a fair amount of uphill between them, so the destination is set by the exact address and not by the name of the municipality. Many bookings to this area are from families visiting Selwo Marina or the Colomares castle, and from long-stay residents in the coastal apartments, who arrive with luggage for weeks.
